Topic: The Evolution of Woodside and where it sits in the current energy environment, Stuart Brown of Woodside

Where: State Library Theatre, Alexander Library Building. Entry is via either of the two main entrances - Perth Cultural Centre entrance in the James Street Pedestrian Mall or Francis Street.
Time: 12 noon - 1pm. Please arrive by 12.00 noon for start
Cost: $5 (incl. GST). Tickets can be purchased at the door 30 minutes prior to the presentation.
Stuart will review Woodside's history, the recent changes in the Australian and International E&P environment and the impact this has had on the strategic direction of the company. He will then elaborate on Woodside's current strategies.
Stuart graduated with a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Geology from the University of Sydney in 1980. He joined Shell Development (Australia) in 1981 and was subsequently transferred to Shell International in the Netherlands in 1984 as Regional Geological Advisor for the Middle East. This was then followed by assignments in Syria, Turkey and the UK in various senior exploration positions. In 1998 he transferred to Shell Angola as Exploration Manager and then in late 1999 he took up the position as Vice President E&P for Syria and Kazakhstan.
Stuart returned to Australia in 2002 and joined Woodside’s Exploration and New Ventures Division, initially as Strategy and Planning Manager, and subsequently from early 2003 as International New Ventures Manager. In late 2007 he transferred to the position of Vice President Corporate Strategic planning, a role he currently holds. |
