Police hunt man in brazen daylight attack on Kings Park jogger
12th October 2007, 11:15 WST
Police are hunting for a man who attacked a female jogger in Kings Park on Monday morning.
A police spokesman said the 22-year-old woman was jogging on a path parallel to Winthrop Avenue near Poole Avenue about 7am when she was attacked by a man who attempted to strip her clothes off.
Police said the man jumped out from behind bushes and wrapped a towel around the woman’s head and face, then pulled her to the ground in to the bush off the track.
The man tried to pull the woman’s track pants off but she kicked and screamed until he fled south toward the University of WA. He took the pale brown towel with him.
Police described the man they are searching for as Caucasian, aged 25 to 30, well tanned, 175cm tall with a medium build, dark hair dark eyes.
It’s believed an elderly couple may have seen the man near the area where the woman was attacked and police have asked they come forward.
Anyone with information on the attack is asked to call CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
