The Position
St John of God Murdoch Hospital is seeking applications from suitably qualified Security Officers to join our team in providing a comprehensive security service and a secure and safe environment for caregivers, patients and visitors of St John of God Murdoch Hospital.
This position will be offered on a casual basis. Successful candidates will be required to participate in a 24/7 rotating roster of 12 hour day, night and weekend shifts. A Certificate II in Security, and current First Aid certificate are essential for further consideration.
Previous experience in a hospital security environment, a working knowledge of parking machines and software, and an understanding of the Honeywell system will be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will have:
A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
Possession of Certificate II in Security Operations (desirable for Level 1, essential for Level 2).
Demonstrated effective communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Ability and willingness to work shift work, including 12.25 hour shifts and night duties.
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills including completion of reports.
Intermediate computer skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety including WH&S.
Current First Aid certificate with CPR component (or equivalent or higher qualification).
Knowledge of Fire panels, detectors, fire drills and warden training.
Experience in control rooms and access control software.
