Junior Underwriter
Socius Group is Perth's leading Recruitment Consultancy to the Insurance Industry & we are delighted to have teamed up again with a niche Underwriting Agency who require an Assistant Underwriter.



This Underwriting Agency has shown constant growth year on year & last year the Perth branch showed extraordinary growth, creating this brand new opportunity.

As the Assistant Underwriter, you will support both a Senior Underwriter & State Leader in assessing & writing risks within a niche market sector, one that is a fast growing sector here in WA.

You will gain fantastic product training to allow you to be fully versed in the wording, which will allow you to be able to speak with the broking community, dealing with existing & prospective new risks.

Duties will entail:

Ensure Service standards are met
Assist in Preparing New Business, Endorsement and Renewal quotes (including calculations, wordings, ensuring underwriting criteria is met)
Assist in maintaining Broker relationships with service and positive effective communication
Adhere to Underwriting guidelines, Underwriting Authority and Reinsurance Treaty
Filing and scanning of documentation as required
Checking proposal forms and closing discrepancies
Adhere to Administration guidelines
To be successful in gaining this role you MUST have 3 years general insurance experience, ideally within an insurer at some point (although not essential).

What will be essential is your strong insurance administrative skills, your ability to communicate with external stakeholders (brokers) & ability to work pro-actively in a small, professional & busy team.

Your ability to learn new products & gain a good understanding of the policy wordings.

Knowledge of liability based risks would be advantageous.
