Assistant Accountant
Your New Role
We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to support our busy Finance department. This full-time permanent role will work alongside our professional finance team to deliver outstanding financial support to the wider business.
Key elements of this role include:
Perform daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks
Post all Banking entries & perform consecutive reconciliations
Complete Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
Liaising with internal & external stakeholders to ensure their requirements are met in time
Assist with preparing financial analysis and reports to drive improved financial performance
Documenting existing and new processes
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports to provide relevant and timely information to the management team
Prepare and post end of month journals
Monitoring monthly expenditure against budgets
Preparing statutory returns including ATO Business Activity Statements
Assist with end of financial year processes, preparation of annual and half yearly audited accounts, budgets and forecasts.
Assist external/Internal Auditors
Who Are You
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Bachelor’s Degree in accountancy or an equivalent Business-related degree
Intention to complete or already progressing towards Professional Qualifications (CA/CPA)
Ideally 1-2 years post grad accounting experience but not essential for the right candidate
Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls
High level of numerical and financial literacy
Ability to meet deadlines with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet objectives
Team player with an enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn
Intermediate knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously
