Quality Assurance Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently recruiting for a QA Officer with experience in the food retail industry to join our team on a Full-time basis, working approximately 38 hours per week with some flexibility in hours required. Reporting to the Product Technologist, this role is pivotal in ensuring that our manufacturing operations and overall business requirements meet the required food safety standards and specifications, as well as CFMSR. Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Undertaking random checks on goods being packed
Undertaking product quality investigations with Internal departments and suppliers. In addition, ensuring all investigations have the required level of detail to apply root cause analysis and corrective preventative actions and fully documented to the required standard
Review and evaluation of production documentation and assessment of any deviations from standard procedures
Analysing trends and quality related data sets, including extracting data from relevant QA systems;
Verification of adherence to HACCP requirements in all activities, as well as verification of processes against work instructions and SOP’s
On-line monitoring of products and processes, whilst educating production staff;
Development of Quality Attribute sheets and training
GMP/ GHP monitoring and external audit preparation
Raising corrective action, maintenance request, non- conformance and contamination record as required
Assisting in customer complaint investigation
Coordinating and participating in traceability, recall and withdrawal exercises
Updating and maintaining quality control policies and procedures
Ad hoc tasks as directed by the QA manager
JOB CRITERIA
To be successful in this role you will possess tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related field, together with at least 1-2 years’ experience in either a QA or QC role (including via work placements) within either a food or meat manufacturing industry. As well as:
Knowledge of external retail certifications e.g. HACCP, CFMSR, etc.
Highly motivated and self-driven with outstanding attention to detail
Ability to build rapport across multiple internal stakeholders
The ability to work with minimal supervision, with exception organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills
High attention to detail
