HSEQ Consultant
GBC Systems
GBC Systems is a small team that focus on assisting SME's manage their health, safety, environmental and quality risks, maintain compliance and reduce impacts. We place a strong emphasis on maintaining long term relationships with our clients which helps us work together to solve problems and continually improve. We currently have clients based throughout the Perth Metro Area, Sydney and Broome.
About the role
The role involves casual flexible working hours assisting with the development of HSEQ procedures, management plans, audits, risk assessments and some administrative tasks. GBC Systems does not have a central office, consultants work from a share space in the Perth CBD or from home, and from client offices as needed. Flexibility is required to meet client demands (attend meetings, conduct audits and inspections etc) but goes both ways to enable working hours to be convenient for consultants. Hours will likely vary week to week however we are seeking approximately a 10-15 hours per week.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Writing procedures, management plans and other documentation
Meeting and liaising with clients
Conducting risk assessments
Internal auditing
Skills and experience
Qualifications
Tertiary degree in relevant field (e.g. Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety) required
Internal audit / management system training is required
Experience in developing and / or implementing a management system is required
Skills and knowledge
Fundamental understanding of process approach management systems (e.g. 14001, 4801, 45001, 9001)
Ability to identify HSEQ risks and appropriate controls in a variety of contexts
Development of management system documentation
Ability to write concise reports, plans and procedures
Must be able to confidently interact with clients
Must be able to autonomously manage time and complete timesheets
Intermediate skills with all Microsoft Office suite
Drivers licence and vehicle
Experience
Previous consulting experience is desirable
Minimum 5 years work experience in relevant role/s
