Gymnastics Western Australia is the governing body for the sport of gymnastics in Western Australia. The Association has 44 member clubs and over 17,500 athlete members. Located just out of the city centre in Leederville, the Association vision is for Gymnastics to be recognised as the foundation for movement, enriching and energising bodies for life. About the role;
The Participation and Sport Coordinator plays a key role in the planning and delivery of a range of Gymnastic WA events and activities and will contribute to driving gymnastics, participation and inclusion initiatives which link to the Gymnastics WA Strategic Plan.
Your duties may include;
Event Coordination – inclusive of planning, preparation, logistics, delivery and evaluation.
Preparation of event budgets
Collaborate event results
Review event structures, policies, manuals, processes and form to ensure events are run to the highest standards.
Assist in the area of participation and inclusion; from development through to implementation and review.
Engage with and establish positive relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.
Facilitate & Coordinate Gymnastics WA volunteers involved with events and other Gymnastics WA activities.
Assist with the development of marketing material.
Maintain and update Gymnastics WA event website calendar and results page.
Required qualifications, skills and experience;
Undergraduate or post-graduate tertiary in a relevant field. Cert IV in Training and Assessment would be advantageous.
Experience working in the sports and recreation and/or educational sectors is desirable.
Previous experience in a similar role.
Proven customer service experience.
Experience working to deliver events, initiatives or projects.
The ability to prepare reports and managing budgets
Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and in particular Excel and Word, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
An understanding of Sporting Organisations or Not for Profit Organisations.
To be successful you will be someone who has;
A passion for participation and inclusion programs as well as a positive, exciting and vibrant attitude.
Flexible and agile with ideas, people and time management.
The ability to set priorities and deliver to key timelines and commitments and to manage conflicting priorities under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, relationship building and presentation skills.
Proven ability to work autonomously without supervision, and collaboratively within a multi-sport team, staff and volunteers.
Demonstrated planning and administration skills.
Strong organisational skills, accuracy and sees tasks through to completion.
The ability to be hands on and work as part of a team when required.
