You will join a team of highly experienced, technically astute and ambitious insurance and risk management professionals in a culture that promotes innovation through the sharing of ideas and encourages professional development, training and success.

The successful candidate will work on-site at one of our major ASX listed clients and be responsible for fulfilling the role of Injury Management Coordinator. Key responsibilities for this role include:

Review and triage incidents to determine appropriate interventions as early as possible.
Identify and assess potential high risk indicators according to diagnostic based recovery timeframes, evaluation of treatment effectiveness, co-morbidity impacts and disease processes.
Provide assistance and advice to Return to Work Coordinators, managers/supervisors and employees to achieve optimal return to work outcomes
Facilitate the development and implementation of return to work plans in consultation with injured employees, their supervisor and the treating doctor.
Develop case management plans in consultation with the insurer/WorkCover to ensure all aspects of the claim are appropriately managed to maximise opportunities to finalise the claim.
Attend medical reviews and case conferences to clarify an injured employee’s functional capacity, treatment progress and options, recovery timeframes and facilitate medical upgrades.
Conduct reviews of claims matters to identify opportunities to implement strategies to resolve cases and reduce costs.
Implement claims management processes aimed at cost effective resolution of premium impacting claims.
Manage all administrative duties associated with the injury management program.
Participate in the review, development and implementation of best practice management systems in respect to workers compensation and injury management.
This role is required to deliver high quality outsourced injury management services to our clients. The position will need to maintain a strong understanding of changing corporate directions and priorities and will involve extensive communication and consultation with multiple stakeholders. Managing the implementation of practical solutions continually requires review and balanced approaches.

This is a significant change management role, where credibility, communication, negotiation and consultation are critical. A key challenge is to achieve continuous business improvement and cost reductions.

The Injury Management Coordinator will undertake the role with a significant degree of independence and require specialist workers compensation and injury management knowledge. The position holder is responsible for setting work priorities and for the quality and timeliness of the outputs and outcomes delivered to our clients and for our business. The position holder will be responsible for achieving annually established targets and key performance objectives.

You should have sound technical skills with a minimum of 5 years industry experience working the workers compensation industry.  You should also have established communication and presentation skills with a desire to think outside the box.

Allied health tertiary education (ideally an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist) and/or Return to Work qualifications are required.
