Head Chef
The Floreat hotel is seeking an experienced Head Chef with ambition and a genuine passion for the field, to showcase their talent and stamp their mark on this exciting newly branded hotel.
This role is ideal for a candidate looking to take their career to the next level.
The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of leading a kitchen, an eye for detail and the ability to adapt to an ever changing environment.
Applicants must have experience as a Head Chef, be highly skilled, motivated and have a true passion for the industry.
The position is suited to a creative and driven individual with strong organisation and communication skills.
You will be responsible for a team of Chefs and will work closely with the Venue Manager and Executive Chef.
Key responsibilities of our Head Chef include but are not limited to:
Overseeing the menu planning
Creativity and passion for the industry
Ability or willingness to understand all financial requirements including budgets and food costing
Creative menu development as well as the ability to stay on brand
Manage the kitchen and staff in accordance to company standards
Overseeing all aspects of the culinary operations including food preparation and production
Setting, implementing and reviewing service standards
Maintaining an effective communication channel between yourself and the Venue Manager as well as the Executive Chef
Display leadership qualities that will inspire your team of kitchen staff
Managing the performance and labour costs for all permanent and casual kitchen employees
Stock control and adhering to cost of goods targets
Adhering to all company and legal OH&S practices
To be successful in the role you will have:
Significant experience managing a kitchen in a similar professional environment
Formal qualifications and certification including Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety Supervisor
Strong leadership abilities
A passion for food and creative flair, clearly demonstrated through innovative menu planning and design
Solid knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety Laws and Workplace Health & Safety legislation
A strong communication style, displaying at all times a high level of professionalism
Proven ability to manage, train and roster your team in line with set budgets
Knowledge of online ordering and inventory control systems
