A HILLARYS man accused of destroying a $132,000 police speed camera has been remanded to seek legal after appearing in Perth Magistrates Court today.
Gagik Toumanian, 43, is alleged to have picked up the Multanova and smashed it repeatedly against a light pole on West Coast Hwy in Swanbourne before running off with part of the camera.
He was not required to enter a plea to one count of criminal damage during a brief court appearance today and was remanded to February 13 to seek legal advice.
Police say they will apply to the court for $132,666.00 restitution to replace the speed camera if Mr Toumanian is convicted of the offence.
