Our reference 2011-113251
Dear Mr Ling Wei
Thank you for your email of 14 August 2011. I note you are currently overseas and would prefer to communicate with me via email. It may be easier to discuss this matter over the phone and I am happy to call you overseas if you provide me with your telephone number and some suitable times to call you.
If you prefer to communicate through email, these are the questions I would like to discuss with you:
· In your telephone conversation with Kim Lankshear of our office on 27 July 2011, you advised that you are concerned with the Navitas Group and the marketing information they provide to Chinese students. You consider that Navitas Group assures its students that once they had completed courses through the Navitas Group, they would be eligible to continue studying for a Bachelor Degree at any public university in Australia. Please provide copies of any written documents to confirm this. If not, on what basis have you determined this conclusion and do you have any documentation supporting this?
· The documents you provided in your email of 27 July 2011 are in Chinese. Do you have English versions available or are you able to summarise the documents for me?
· During your telephone conversation with Kim Lankshear on 27 July 2011, you advised you have lodged complaints with Macquarie University and Curtin University of Technology. Please provide copies of the complaints you lodged and the responses from both Macquarie University and Curtin University of Technology.
· You advised that after lodging your complaints, Navitas Group organised the students who had used your agency to move to another education agent. Please advise how many students were transferred to another education agent, the name of the alternative education agent, the date of transfer and the reasons provided to you for their move.
· What are the remedies to your complaint you are seeking from this office?
This information will be helpful for me to decide how to proceed with your complaint.
I would appreciate it if you could get back to me by Tuesday 23 August 2011.
Yours sincerely
Yolanda Shave
