About the role
The Development Department supports players, coaches and officials in their football journey through participation, education and learning opportunities.
The role would suit a person who is passionate about the importance of sport in the physical and mental wellbeing of children. The candidate would enjoy working with children aged 4-11 as well as the Game Leaders and parents of these children.
The main aim of this role is to increase football participation of players between the ages of 4 and 11 through the development, implementation and quality delivery of the MiniRoos Club, Kick-Off and Girls Only playing formats.
This role will be responsible for all aspects of program delivery from identifying and establishing the program sites, providing the coaching services and delivering community coach education and workshops across the metro and regional areas.
This also includes the administrative tasks, planning and coordination that support a successful program delivery.
This is a full-time role for a fixed term of 6 months with the possibility of extension. It will necessitate working outside office hours on evenings and weekends.
Skills and experience
Basic understanding of football
Ability to deliver basic football content to players, coaches and parents in a wide range of situations
Working knowledge of FFA National Football Curriculum, specifically the Discovery and Skill Acquisition Phase
Understanding of the FFA Whole of Football plan
Experience in working with young children
Strong written and verbal communication
Demonstrated ability to use initiative, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement experience
A person must be eligible to work in Australia in order to be employed by Football West and must also provide:
A current First Aid certificate
A current Working with Children check; an
A current Driver's Licence
