<h1>A Guide to Membership</h1>

                <p>Organisations
worldwide are hungry for new ideas and processes that will give them a
competitive advantage in today’s increasingly global marketplace.
Inevitably, this has created growing demand for knowledgeable
professionals who can control costs, bring value to their organizations
and build valuable partnerships with key suppliers. <br /> <br />That’s
where CIPS Australia comes in. Part of a global network of 42,000
members, CIPSA is the voice and guardian of the procurement and supply
management profession in Australia, helping individuals develop,
organizations improve their procurement practices and the wider
business community grow and make the most of opportunities that are out
there.</p>
<p>It is our role to ensure business leaders understand the
contribution you and your colleagues make to corporate prosperity;
helping you become better procurement professionals and promoting a
Code of Ethics which ahs become the international benchmark for
procurement and supply management practice.</p>
<p>Understandably, we are very proud of our role in driving excellence
in procurement and supply chain management throughout Australia, and
are here to support you in driving that same excellence within your own
organisation.</p>
<p>Membership of CIPS Australia will enhance your status as a
procurement practitioner and give you the backing of a well-informed
professional body. You’ll have direct access to a global resource of
best practice information, tools and techniques, together with
opportunities to exchange ideas and contacts with other like-minded
professionals.</p>
<h3><br />An Explanation of CIPS Membership Grades</h3>
<p><br /><strong>Fellow (FCIPS)</strong> – Awarded to existing Members
with a record of outstanding achievement and competence in purchasing
and supply chain management. </p>
<p><strong>Member (MCIPS) –</strong> Most successful applicants achieve
this grade by completing the CIPS Graduate Diploma. However,
alternative routes include the successful completion of an accredited
degree, or a CIPS Personal Development Programme.</p>
<p><strong>Associate Member –</strong> There are a variety of routes to associate membership:<br />Members
working towards the Graduate Diploma who have been awarded exemptions
form the foundation stage will be awarded associate membership.</p>
<p>Members who are completing a post graduate programme accredited by
CIPS will be awarded associate membership as they progress through
these programmes.</p>
<p>Associate members who are progressing on the Graduate Diploma o CIPS
accredited degree enjoy a greatly reduce subscription rate whilst
having access to all CIPS services</p>
<p>Senior practitioners who are working towards MCIPS through the
Personal Development Plan (PDP) route* will also be awarded associate
membership as they progress through the PDP. Associate members
progressing through the PDP attract a higher subscription rate than the
studying associate members.</p>
<p>* The PDP route to full membership is an assessment of experience,
knowledge and responsibility across an individuals purchasing career.
Upon successful completion of a PDP, full membership (MCIPS) is
awarded. It does not award the Graduate Diploma.</p>
<p><strong>Affiliates –</strong> This grade is for those individuals
who have a strong interest in purchasing and supply, wish to keep
themselves up to date with professional developments and to take
advantage of the products and services offered by CIPS, but who do not
wish to become professionally qualified. There are no entry
qualifications.</p>
<strong>Student –</strong> Student membership is for those who are
at the earliest stage of their professional development and are
undertaking a study or competence based programme leading towards
completion of the CIPS Graduate Diploma or its equivalent. Students
have full access to CIPS benefits whilst receiving a substantial
reduction in their membership subscription during their course of
study. On completion of the Foundation Stage, or its equivalent,
students will move up to Associate Members.<br /><br />
