Due to an internal promotion we are seeking a driven Assistant Accountant to join the Financial Control team based in the Head Office on St Georges Tce, Perth. It’s a great opportunity to learn and grow your professional accounting career with a dynamic and interesting organisation.
You can expect to do great things as well as day to day priorities such as assisting the delivery of accurate monthly financial accounts and ensuring the general ledger is maintained to a high standard. Other accountabilities include:
assisting the Project Accountant with project accounting issues such as running weekly project settlements in SAP/managing project master data/performing asset capitalizations
assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual ABS survey’s
preparation of general ledger reconciliations for all business units, wholly owned subsidiaries and JVs
manage transactional entries and assist in the preparation of meaningful, accurate and timely monthly financial reports
assist in implementing accounting policies and, when required, educate the business on accounting practices/business process requirements
We are looking for a driven, eager to learn upcoming accounting professional whom has a tertiary qualification in accounting or similar and is likely working towards their CA or CPA qualification. You will also be experienced in project or cost administration and familiar with SAP transactions such as accounts payable and purchase orders or similar.
Some other skills we would like to see:
advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel
experience interacting with Vendors
ability to contribute and collaborate within a team environment
exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
